This is a postwar Bavarian State Police (Bayerische Polizei) field cap, issued during the early Cold War period in West Germany. The cap is constructed from green wool with light green piping, aluminum pebbled buttons, and features the Bavarian coat of arms in metal enamel, set prominently on the front.
