German Imperial / Reichswehr Gott Mit Uns Brass Belt Buckle

Original German Imperial to Reichswehr period brass belt buckle bearing the crowned GOTT MIT UNS motto, produced between the late Kaiserreich and early Weimar era and carried forward into early 1930s service. The central roundel displays the Imperial crown, confirming pre-Nazi origin and excluding Third Reich manufacture. Construction consists of a brass base with a separately applied medallion, soldered in place using period techniques, and an early-style prong bar with fixed hooks on the reverse. The form, proportions, and hardware layout are consistent with original Imperial and Reichswehr buckles used before the 1935 re-patterning. Surface wear, oxidation, and patina are consistent with age and long-term service use.
