Prussian Gott Mit Uns Brass Belt Buckle – Imperial / Reichswehr

Original Prussian Army enlisted man’s belt buckle bearing the crowned GOTT MIT UNS motto within a laurel wreath, produced during the Imperial period and retained into Reichswehr service up to 1935. The crown form, wreath geometry, and letter style are distinct Prussian characteristics and exclude Austro-Hungarian or SA origin. The buckle is of brass construction with a separately applied roundel, and the reverse shows early soldered prong bar and hooks consistent with pre-war manufacture. Surface wear, oxidation, and patina layering reflect long service life and storage rather than artificial ageing. This example represents transitional Prussian stock carried forward before replacement by the Wehrmacht eagle pattern.
